The Business Travel Conference is pleased to announce that former MP and cabinet minister Michael Portillo has been confirmed as keynote speaker at this year's event, taking place on October 25-26th.
In government Portillo’s roles have included Minister of State for Transport and Minister of State for Local Government and Inner Cities, and as a Cabinet Minister was Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Secretary of State for Employment, and Secretary of State for Defence. He has also served as Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer and, since leaving politics, has carved out a career in the media as both journalist and TV presenter.
As The Business Travel Confernece's keynote speaker, Portillo follows in the footsteps of Kate Adie. The popular former chief news correspondent for the BBC regaled last year's audience for over an hour with her tales of travel in alien cultures and on dangerous turf, usually at the last minute and very often having to negotiate with drivers and pilots and pay whatever they demanded to get her somewhere.
We look forward to welcoming Michael Portillo to TBTC'10.
